Upload Quality Guides
Your image is the source of every print we make. These guides show you how to photograph or scan your originals to a quality that reproduces sharply at large format — so your limited and open editions look exactly as you intended.
Quick Tips
Light evenly from 45° angles
Two soft, diffused sources — no flash, no hotspots.
Shoot square-on, dead-centre
Camera parallel to the artwork, all four corners sharp.
Minimum 300 DPI at target size
~12,000px per metre of print edge. Bigger is better.
Use TIFF or PNG, not JPG
Lossless files preserve detail at large format.
Fill the frame, crop tight
Only the artwork — no easel, mat, or wall.
White-balance for true colour
Daylight balance, then proof against the original.
Full Guides
- 01Mount the artwork flat against a neutral wall, centred at camera height.
- 02Set up two identical soft light sources at 45° to the artwork, equal distance, equal power — this kills shadows and glare.
- 03Camera on a tripod, dead-centre, lens parallel to the artwork. Use a level on both the artwork and the camera.
- 04Use a mid-range aperture (f/8–f/11) for edge-to-edge sharpness. Turn off image stabilisation on a tripod.
- 05Focus on the centre, use a remote shutter or 2-second timer to avoid shake.
- 06Shoot in RAW. Convert to 16-bit TIFF for upload — this preserves the full tonal range.
